EU De Minimis Calculator

Get the HS code, the €3 customs duty and the full landed cost for low-value parcels shipped to the European Union.

Tip: a fuller description (material, type, use) gives a more accurate HS code than one or two words.

How it works

You describe each product; our engine finds the closest official HS (Harmonized System) subheadings from the EU nomenclature and an AI assistant ranks the best match. We then apply the €3 duty per declared line, add import VAT per your regime and any handling fees, and show the total. Codes are suggestions to confirm, not an official declaration.

FAQ

What is the EU €3 de minimis duty?

From 1 July 2026 the EU removed the €150 customs-duty exemption for parcels bought online from outside the EU. A flat €3 customs duty now applies per item (per declared line) on B2C consignments worth up to €150, until 30 June 2028.

Is the €3 charged per parcel or per item?

Per declared line. For e-commerce (H6/H7) declarations, items sharing the same HS/CN code are grouped into one line, so effectively €3 per distinct code in the parcel.

Does the €3 duty affect the VAT?

It depends on the VAT regime. Under IOSS (VAT collected at checkout) the €3 is not part of the VAT base. Under standard import VAT or the special arrangements, the €3 is included in the VAT base.

Do I still need an HS code during 2026–2028?

Yes. Classification stays mandatory to determine eligibility, group items, set the VAT rate and check restrictions.

How accurate is the HS code suggestion?

It's an assistant that returns the top-3 most likely codes for you to confirm — not a guaranteed classification. A fuller product description improves accuracy.
